Tiffany, the Key of Love
Here came the Valentine again, the day of love and romance. Streets were filled with couples whispering, flirting, and enjoying the sweet atmosphere. Merchants could never let go of this lucrative time, commercials about chocolates, flowers and jewels pervade everywhere. Lucy and Johnson, who have been in love for years, wouldn’t be an exception; days ago they’d already got the plan for the day. The plan was mediocre but sweet, shopping, dinner and then a nice warm love movie. Both of them were very busy at ordinary times and they’d been eagerly looking forward to this date.
Now appear the beautiful and the handsome. Hand in hand, they’re leisurely walking and talking and smiling to each other. Everything just went perfectly so far. As they walked across the corner of the road, a Tiffany chain store just came out of nowhere and drew Lucy’s attention all of a sudden. Luxurious in its decoration, unique in its taste, you just couldn’t ignore this kind of shop. Besides, Lucy had always been an enthusiastic fan of Tiffany. Then naturally and decidedly Lucy rushes towards the store dragging Johnson and entered in the store. It was just simply gorgeous and resplendent with so many fancy rings and necklaces shimmering.
Lucy couldn’t wait to appreciate these beautiful stuffs. Soon she’s caught by one of the new arrivals. It’s a classic designed necklace with platinum lace and a heart shaped pendant which has a diamond center stone boasts the most perfect cutting proportion. She just didn’t move since then, fixed her eyes on it intently and spoke excitingly “Beautiful!” However, Johnson was uninterested, he seemed totally unmoved and paid no attention to Lucy’s obsession and even hurried to leave. “Let’s go, baby, you don’t need this, do you?” He said. Obviously Lucy is getting a little upset, “yeah, I don’t really need this, but it is valentine, baby”, she implied. Johnson still can’t get it, “yeah, it’s valentine, let’s go do something fun, ok? I’ve heard there’s a bar nearby, there must be fun! ” Totally disappointed and dissatisfied, Lucy argued “Bar? What can be funny in a bar? That’s what’s on your mind? Going to a bar on valentine? Well, I’m tired today, I think I want to go home and have a rest” Then uncompromisingly she goes towards the door. “Don’t leave Baby, what’s wrong with a bar? What’s with you today?” He went up try to grasp her hand, but it’s useless right now, she just dropped his hand off and got in a cab quickly and leaves while Johnson only stands discomposedly.
Then these were the days of silence, both of them had been thinking about it. Lucy is a good girl; she reckoned she might have been too selfish; she regretted it but still hesitated to call him. While about Johnson, he’s usually not good at such girl things, but naturally he thinks it’s his fault and he decided to buy that very Tiffany necklace which started all this. He called her, asked her to forgive him and asked her if he could come over to see her. She’s quite relived and happy that he called and swiftly got dressed. Soon rang the bell, all handsome and attractive as he stood at the door. Probably a little embarrassed, she didn’t embrace him intimately as she would often do. Johnson broke the ice first “I’m sorry honey, I just thought a bar would be fun and I didn’t expect it would upset you that much, I bring you something you might like,” Then out he took the necklace case and opened it. There it was the brilliantly exquisite Tiffany necklace. “Oh, my, Johnson!” she almost cried out with tears immediately filled with her eyes and opened her mouth emotionally. “Let me try this on you” he said calmly and got it done. “Perfect, baby, you look so good with it, it must be specially made for you!” He added. She was so touched and happy that she just embraced and kissed him warmly. “I love you, darling! I’m so sorry for being so childish, thank you so much for your tolerance and necklace; I would never treat you like that!” She cried. “It’s ok baby, I just want you to know that I’ll always be there for you, If you ever need anything, tell me, and I need you to tell me your needs, that’s what a boyfriend for, right?”
Later two of them decided to have another supplementary date. In the restaurant she talked and smiled sweetly in the soft music with the heart shaped center stone of her Tiffany necklace shining splendidly and aroused other women who sat beside to envy. Cause she’s now the happiest woman in the world.
Learn to Love Yourself
Think that your grades are too low, so you urge yourself to stay in the library doing endless exercises, which makes yourself exhausted while without any efficiency? Think that you are too short, so you always wear high heels which makes you look better but suffer more? And think that it is too expensive to buy the shining Tiffany silver jewelries that you have long expected, so you are always looking at the shop window when you pass the shop?
All of the above prove that you don’t know how to love yourself.
Everyday, you may find people around you falling in love, passionately in love and disappointed in love affair. You know that if you love a person, you should try your best to accompany him/her, share your feeling with him/her and be honest to him/her. Love may differ in degrees in different situations, but all acts and words that contain love can bring warmth and happiness to your heart.
Great Expectations
It is known to us all that life is changeable. At one moment, you are so happy and so eager to try something or achieve something. While on another moment, life has just played a little trick on you, and what you have always supposed to achieve may suddenly be so far beyond. In fact, we are often taught by our wise teachers and some philosophy books that the result of a certain thing is not important at all. What we should pay attention to is the course when we go through the whole thing.
During one period of time, I was so afraid of being disappointed that I prevent myself from dreaming great expectations, trying to focus on the course while ignoring what I would like to achieve. It did work to comfort me when I failed certain competitions, for I didn’t expect so much at the first place. And I didn’t have to suffer from the feelings such as falling into the hell from the paradise in one minute, because I never imagined I would be in the paradise.
However, later I know that I have misunderstood what my teachers said. They said to pay little attention to the result, but they didn’t mean that I should do things without a goal. And looking back at my attitude in that period, I feel so regret. The times that I feel disappointed have decreased, but the times that I succeed have also decreased. Without great expectation, I was competing without a goal. As a result, I became lack of the motivation to pursue a better and stronger self, just maintaining who I was and making no attempt to go further.
And if I have great expectations, I will be possessed with the determination to make a change. For example, if I expect to be more beautiful, I will make my mind to save money so that I can buy the fashionable Tiffany silver jewelry necklace, which can make me more attractive. While if I don’t have the expectation, I will just stay being common, and pay little attention to the way I appear.
So it is really important to have great expectations on ourselves and also on our lives. And that is the essential thing with which we can arouse our motivation and compete for a better situation and a better life.
The Amazing Change
Yesterday, I went to attend a gathering party of former junior high, Grade Two’s classmates. They are not like those classmates from senior high school; most of us have already lost touch with each other for more than four years. We are really so-called spreading to every corner of the country, so I was so excited at the moment I received the call from our monitor.
Everybody had changed too much; I could not really recognize all of them. Those young boys and girls have already turned into men and women, they were no longer like teenagers who cared about studies most and many other small things. Most of us are in universities now, studying various kinds of majors, but there are still some who have already left school when others graduated from the high school.
One of them is a girl who seated behind my best friend five years ago. At that time, we knew that her family was poor, so we all supported her by words or by some financial things. Now, she carried a young baby with her to the party, which made most of us amazed. We had already come to the thought that she might drop school early, but we had never known that she would marry at such an early age.
Wearing splendid jewelry and fashionable clothes, she gave us a picture of a total housewife and also, it suggested that she lived a happy life now. Seeing the radiant necklace from the famous jewelry shop-Tiffany, I felt that she was the person who had been completely changed by the society over these years. In former times, she was a student who worked hard everyday and hated those people who looked on luxury as something that could be shown to others. But now, she herself has become one of them.
When I returned home yesterday, I told this to my mother, who said that different people had their own different way of living the life. Maybe it is just the unique fate of people, and I really wonder what my fate may be in the future.
Go on or Quit?
I once took a course about management and I noticed there was a girl who always took the seat beside me at the back of the classroom. Out of curiosity, I chatted with her.
“Why you always sit besides me, have we met?”
“No, we have never met before. But why are you sitting here? You seem to like this course a lot.”
“I like looking at the blackboard and listening to the teacher from this angle, I will be able to control my mentality better.”
“I am here because my family wants me to. They want me to take over the family business, for I am the only child in my family.”
“Wow, it seems unpleasant for me. My parents want me to learn music but I am not into the whole music stuff so I put the cards on the table and negotiated with them that if they pushed any further I swore that I would run away.”
