Tips for Bathing in Winter

In this cold winter, it is extremely comfortable to take a shower after returning home from the outside. However, it is not necessary to take for a long time. According to experts, there are three high-voltage wires you should never touch when you take a shower in winter; otherwise it will lead to serious consequences.

When people are tired, they feel muscle painful, to which a simple and effective solution is taking a warm bath. But you should learn by heart three principles.

First of all, the water should not be too hot. Appropriate water temperature can accelerate body’s metabolism. Yet, very heated water will consume more body energy than necessary and lead to physical fatigue. At the same time, the hot water will wash off skin secretion of grease as well as the protective bacterial groups attached to the skin surface. This will easily hurt the cuticle and cause symptoms like itching and drying. It is proper for the water as warm as body temperature.

Also, one should not take a shower for a long time. The tap water is usually disinfected with chlorine. Prolonged bathing with water containing chlorine will irritate the airways and cause diseases. Apart from this, prolonged bathing will reduce brain’s blood supply and may easily lead to accidents due to blood shortage in brain, which is especially true for elders. It may also cause cardiac ischemia, hypoxia and thus give rise to coronary artery spasm, thrombosis, and even induce serious arrhythmia and sudden death. 10 to 15 minutes is quite appropriate.

The third is that the room temperature should not be too high. Afraid of catching cold when bathing, many people switch the room temperature to a high level, unaware of the fact that the large differences in temperature between the room and the outside will more easily cause people to catch cold.

Besides, it is inappropriate for you to take a shower when you are stuffed or hungry. Immediate bathing after meal will cause expansion of muscle blood vessels, reduction in gastrointestinal blood, and digesting problems. You can also drink a cup of hot water before and after the bathing for enough water for your body. And apply normal shampoo or soap to the skin to protect it from being dry.

Next time when you take a shower in winter, please remind yourself of the above tips and then enjoy a comfortable and safe bath.
